When To Write Is Harder Than What To Write

The writing process is sometimes more about when to write than what to write.

Maybe it’s really a game of metacognition. Do you know what you need to know to write something cogent? Do you know when you know what you need to know? When do you know that you know what you need to know? Eh, I don’t know.

But I do know that a lot of what appears on the internet occurs when the author has no idea what they don’t know, or doesn’t know that everyone already knows what they know.

Timing is everything. But you probably already knew that.
